We are not a volume builder. We take on a limited number of projects each year so that every home we create receives the dedicated focus, expert craftsmanship, and personal attention it deserves. When you build with Southern Shore, you work directly with the people making decisions about your home — not a rotating cast of project managers you'll never meet again.
Our team includes master carpenters, cabinetmakers, finishers, site supervisors, and project managers — most of whom have been with us for years. The crew that frames your home is the same crew that will install your trim. The cabinetmaker who builds your kitchen island is the same person who designed it with you. How involved can I be in the design and construction process?+
As involved as you want to be. Some clients want to select every fixture, review every shop drawing, and walk the site weekly. Others prefer to make the big decisions (floor plan, exterior style, major material palettes) and trust us to handle the details. Both approaches work — we adapt to your preferred level of engagement, not the other way around. The one thing we insist on is being present for milestone walkthroughs: foundation, framing, mechanical rough-in, drywall, and trim. These are the moments when seeing the space in person matters most.
Do you build 'green' or energy-efficient homes?+
Every Southern Shore home exceeds energy code requirements as a matter of standard practice — spray-foam insulation (walls and attic), high-efficiency zoned HVAC, tankless water heaters, low-E windows, LED lighting, and blower-door tested envelope sealing. For clients who want to pursue formal certification (ENERGY STAR, LEED, National Green Building Standard), we're happy to accommodate. We don't market ourselves as a 'green builder' because, candidly, these practices should be standard in luxury construction — not a premium upgrade.
